ISLAMABAD: Ruoyu Hua (CHN) started his quest for title on winning note as he defeated Sarp Akan Ercan (TUR) 6-1, 6-4 to make it to the second round of the ITF Pakistan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial Junior Tennis Championship (J-60, Leg-3) at the PTF Complex Courts Monday.
Tariq Murtza, Chairman of the Islamabad Tennis Association, inaugurated the championships. A total of 24 boys and 20 girls from 16 countries, including Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Japan, China, Australia, Russia, Poland, South Korea, Sri Lanka, USA, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Netherlands, and Thailand, are participating in the championship.
The event is organised annually in memory of Late Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, who served as President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation from 2001 to 2009, as a tribute to his legacy, passion, and love for tennis.
The event is sponsored by Faisal Movers, Book Karo, OGDCL, Ndure Shoes, and Syngenta Pakistan.
