LAHORE: The PSL 2026 (PSL 11) delivers another blockbuster with Match 32, as Karachi Kings face Peshawar Zalmi at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Wednesday (today).

This fixture is a rematch of their April 9 clash, where Zalmi inflicted a record-breaking 159-run defeat on the Kings — the biggest winning margin in PSL history. With playoff places on the line, both sides enter this contest with heightened intensity.

The Kings began PSL 2026 in blistering form, winning their first three matches with David Warner’s explosive batting and Hasan Ali’s ruthless death bowling. However, their momentum collapsed after Warner’s absence and their humiliating defeat to Zalmi. Interim captain Moeen Ali now faces the challenge of reviving their campaign.

Batting remains their biggest concern. Salman Agha’s poor form (just 86 runs in seven outings) has left the top order fragile. The team will rely heavily on Jason Roy, Reeza Hendricks, and Azam Khan to provide runs. Hendricks has shown promise with scores of 51 and 49* in recent matches, while Azam Khan’s finishing ability remains vital.

Bowling has been more consistent, with Hasan Ali leading the wicket charts and Adam Zampa’s leg-spin proving effective in the middle overs. However, their collapse to 87 all out against Zalmi exposed vulnerabilities under pressure.

Zalmi have been the standout side of PSL 2026, winning seven matches on the bounce and becoming the first franchise to qualify for the playoffs. Their batting has been exceptional, led by Babar Azam, who has scored 18, 71, and 101 in his last three innings, and Kusal Mendis, whose historic 109 off 52 balls against Karachi was one of the innings of the tournament.

Their bowling attack is equally formidable. Sufyan Muqeem, the leading wicket-taker of PSL 2026 with 17 scalps, has been outstanding, while Nahid Rana and Iftikhar Ahmed have provided crucial breakthroughs. The depth of their attack was evident in their demolition of Karachi, where multiple bowlers shared wickets.

In this match the psychological edge rests with Zalmi who had a record-breaking win that gives them a huge advantage. Karachi must prove that defeat was an aberration.

The Gaddafi Stadium surface has been a batting paradise, with average first-innings totals between 175–195. Chasing teams have won nine of 14 matches here, making the toss crucial.

However, David Warner’s availability and form will be decisive. His golden duck in the first meeting set the tone for Karachi’s collapse. Karachi’s hopes also rest on Hasan Ali providing early breakthroughs to contain Zalmi’s top order.

On the other hand, congested schedule could test Zalmi’s workload management, though their depth remains strong.
