LANDIKOTAL: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday arrested five people for attempting to travel to Afghanistan on fake documents through the Torkham border, officials said.
They said the action was taken during clearance under the Integrated Border Management System (IFRP), where FIA Immigration Torkham detected five cases involving forged travel documents.
The operation was carried out by FIA Inspector Adnan Ahmed Jan and head constable Mahmood Khan.
The officials said the arrestees were Pakistani citizens trying to bypass the verification system of the National Database and Registration Authority to cross the border.
Initial investigations said that each suspect had paid Rs50,000 to obtain the fake documents.
