KARACHI: The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) hosted an exclusive CXO meetup in Karachi, bringing together IT leaders, policymakers and officials to discuss strategies for boosting Pakistan’s IT exports and advancing digital transformation.
Ali Rashid, special assistant to the Sindh chief minister on information technology, said the provincial government views IT as a key driver of economic growth and pledged to address industry challenges on a priority basis. He added that collaboration with P@SHA would support digitisation and e-governance across government departments.
Faisal Jeddy, CEO of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), announced that foreign companies can now open Roshan Digital Accounts, as part of efforts to attract global clients and increase exports. He said the PSEB is working with industry stakeholders to enhance infrastructure, including IT parks.
P@SHA Chairperson Sajjad Mustafa Syed stressed the need for adopting artificial intelligence and 5G, warning that Pakistan risks falling behind without modern technologies and improved ease of doing business.
Officials also highlighted the need to equip youth with market-relevant digital skills, while industry representatives called for faster development of Special Technology Zones to support export-led growth.
