MARDAN: The Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Mardan asked former mayor Himayatullah Mayar to surrender the official vehicle and residence.Sources said that the TMO Mardan issued a notice after it came to light that the former mayor was still using facilities even after the end of his term as mayor.
The notice instructed the former mayor to surrender the official residence, warning him of legal consequences should he fail to comply. Nevertheless, Himayatullah Mayar managed to obtain a stay order against the notice from the court. The issue was discussed on different social media platforms, prompting the authorities to issue the notice. Many social media users criticized Himayatullah Mayar and was asked to surrender the car and the house.
One user pointed out that although it has been a month since the term of the city government expired, facilities such as the TMA house, the mayor’s car, security, and other services continued to be used by the former mayor.
