QUETTA: Senior officials on Saturday said recent terrorist incidents and cross-border infiltration in Balochistan are linked to Afghanistan, adding that concrete evidence of these connections is available.
They also warned the society and parents to remain careful as hostile elements are exploiting sacred human relationships for their malicious agendas.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Balochistan, Hamza Shafqat, DIG CTD Aitzaz Goraya and Aide to the Balochistan Home Minister Babar Yousafzai said terrorists enter Pakistan from Afghanistan, carry out attacks in Balochistan and then escape back across the border.
Babar Yousafzai said extremist networks are increasingly using women and innocent children as instruments to achieve their objectives, describing the practice as deeply inhumane and entirely contrary to Baloch traditions.
Referring to a recent incident, he revealed that the husband of a female suicide bomber himself took her to Afghanistan, where she was trained for terrorism. He added that hostile elements are exploiting sacred human relationships for their malicious agendas.
The officials urged all segments of society, especially parents, to remain vigilant and keep a close watch on suspicious individuals in their surroundings. They also advised families to thoroughly verify background before marriages.
They appealed to the public not to fall prey to misleading propaganda spread by extremists and to cooperate with security agencies in foiling conspiracies against the country and society. They reiterated their resolve to defeat the enemy’s nefarious designs at all costs.
