I am writing to draw attention to the alarming rise in youth unemployment in Pakistan, which continues to affect educated graduates across both urban and rural areas. Despite holding degrees, many young people struggle to find suitable employment opportunities, leading to frustration, financial pressure and a growing sense of hopelessness among the youth. This situation requires urgent attention from policymakers and educational institutions.
We must examine the root causes of this issue, including the mismatch between academic curricula and market demands, lack of technical and vocational training and limited access to career counselling services in public institutions. Collective efforts from all stakeholders are necessary to ensure sustainable economic growth and meaningful employment opportunities for the younger generation.
