Quality education is very important for a nation’s progress. A good teacher is one who plays a vital role in this quality education. However, in Pakistan, the standard of education often suffers due to a lack of trained teachers. Many teachers enter the classrooms without any formal training or interest. There is a shortage of qualified teachers and training facilities in rural regions, which leads to inequality in education. Some are too strict and some lack the basic knowledge of the subject they themselves are teaching.
The government should make good-quality training centres for teachers. The lack of uniformity in qualifications affects the quality of education. Learning losses caused by school closures in recent years and ongoing systemic challenges have further widened the gap in quality education. If we are serious about improving learning outcomes, immediate investment in teacher training and support systems is essential. We should strengthen teachers today as it is the key to securing the future of our students.
