LAHORE: A six-year-old girl died allegedly after being subjected to severe torture by her stepmother in the Green Town area.
The child, identified as Fatima, was brought to hospital where doctors found multiple injury marks on different parts of her body. Police said the condition of the body suggested that the death may have occurred one to two days earlier.
Upon receiving information, police took the girl’s father and stepmother into custody from the hospital and launched an investigation.
The body has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem examination, which officials said would help determine the exact cause of death and clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police have registered a case in the murder of a female schoolteacher in Shahdara, with the victim’s son nominating his own father as the prime suspect.
According to police, the FIR was lodged on the complaint of the deceased’s son, Abdul Rehman, against his father for allegedly murdering his mother, ShaistaNaseem. The FIR stated that the suspect shot his wife in the head as she was leaving home for school in the morning, resulting in her death.
Police said the victim was a resident of Shahdara Town and worked as a schoolteacher. Initial investigations suggest that the couple had been facing domestic disputes for some time. The FIR also alleges that the accused is a drug addict and killed his wife without justification.
