PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has approved a writ petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation, Fakhar Jahan, seeking protective bail, directing him to appear before the relevant courts by April 15.
The writ petition was heard by a two-member bench comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Farah Jamshed.During the hearing, counsel for Fakhar Jahan, Alam Khan Adinzai, informed the court that his client, being a provincial minister, had been declared a proclaimed offender in FIRs registered in Rawalpindi and Khushab.
He stated that the petitioner had earlier filed a writ petition in February 2025 seeking details of any cases against him, and the respondents had submitted reports claiming that no cases were registered against him. However, the counsel argued that the petitioner has now been declared a proclaimed offender in FIRs registered in November 2024.
He maintained that his client is willing to appear before the courts but fears arrest, and therefore sought protective bail.In its written judgment, the court granted protective bail to Fakhar Jahan until April 15, directing him to approach the relevant courts within this period. The court noted that the petitioner is a provincial minister and, according to his counsel, is being politically victimized.
