MULTAN: The national anti-polio campaign organised by the City District Administration was formally launched on Monday.
Polio teams administered vaccines to 348,000 children on the first day of the campaign across the district, according to officials.Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Noman Siddique said foolproof security was provided to polio teams on official instructions to ensure smooth campaign operations.
The Deputy Commissioner said that more than 1,015,000 children under the age of five will be vaccinated during the campaign across the district.He added that a large-scale workforce has been mobilized to achieve the target effectively. Officials said a total of 4,399 teams, including mobile, fixed, and transit teams, have been deployed for the campaign.
In addition, 833 area in-charges and 135 Union Council Medical Officers are supervising field operations to ensure full coverage.Polio vaccines are also being administered at 230 fixed sites and 148 transit points across the district. Special teams have been deployed at bus stands, railway stations, and hospitals to ensure that no child is missed during the drive.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that a special follow-up campaign will be launched after the completion of the three-day drive to ensure complete coverage and eradication efforts, officials added.
NANKANA SAHIB: A National Anti-Polio Campaign has been launched in Nankana Sahib District.Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Tasleem Akhtar Rao, along with the CEO Health and other officials, administered polio drops to children at DHQ Hospital on Monday, marking the formal inauguration of the campaign.
On the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, polio teams have been deployed across the district and are actively carrying out vaccination duties in the field.Transit points in Nankana city were also inspected, and the performance of field teams was reviewed.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner said the campaign will continue until April 16, 2026, with a target of vaccinating more than 288,000 children under the age of five across the district.
He urged parents to ensure that all eligible children receive polio drops to protect them from lifelong disability.Officials said polio teams are visiting households door-to-door, while vaccination is also being carried out at schools, bus stands, railway stations, hospitals, and city entry points. A total of 1,198 teams are participating in the campaign.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all Assistant Commissioners to ensure effective monitoring of field teams. He also emphasized full cooperation from parents and teachers and confirmed that security arrangements for polio teams have been ensured across the district.
BUREWALA: Anti-polio campaign has been launched across Vehari district, with authorities mobilising extensive resources to vaccinate more than 650,000 children under the age of five.Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed Goraya said the campaign will continue from April 13 to April 16, targeting 650,261 children under the age of five.
He urged parents to ensure that all eligible children receive polio drops without fail, stressing that the vaccine is essential to protect children from lifelong disability and to build a healthier society.
The deputy commissioner said anti-polio teams will conduct door-to-door vaccination and also cover bus stands, railway stations, hospitals, and city entry points to ensure no child is missed.
He added that children under the age of two will also be given Vitamin A capsules to strengthen immunity during the campaign.Chief Executive Officer Health Dr Fahad Waheed said a total of 2,374 teams have been deployed for the drive, including 2,176 mobile teams, 109 fixed teams, and 89 transit teams.
He further said that 89 Union Council Medical Officers (UCMOs) and 402 area in-charges are supervising the campaign to ensure effective implementation.District authorities have appealed to the public to fully cooperate with health workers to ensure the success of the campaign and contribute towards a polio-free Pakistan.
JHANG: Chiniot Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan conducted a field visit to review the ongoing anti-polio campaign in various areas of the district, accompanied by health officials including CEO Health Dr Saqib Muneer.
During the visit, she inspected polio teams in nomadic settlements along Jhumra Road, checked markings on huts, and verified finger markings on children.She expressed satisfaction over the performance but directed officials to maintain strict vigilance and ensure complete coverage, stressing that no child should be missed under any circumstances.
