LAHORE :Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Punjab, Azma Bokhari, has said that a new phase of positive developments has begun for Pakistan, and the country is now poised for a significant leap forward. She emphasised that Pakistan has attained an important position on the global stage, where the world is not only observing but also acknowledging its constructive role.
In her statement here on Monday, the minister highlighted that the international recognition Pakistan received through the Islamabad Talks, and the discussions by global leadership on Pakistan’s peace-making efforts, reflected a significant diplomatic achievement. She noted that acknowledgment of Pakistan’s sacrifices for peace at a conference held at Harvard University is a major diplomatic victory for the country.
Criticising India, she said that the so-called secular face of India has been exposed before the world, particularly in light of the situation in Indian occupied Kashmir and the treatment of minorities. In contrast, she added, Pakistan’s bright and progressive image is emerging globally, which is a matter of pride for every Pakistani.
Speaking about government performance, she stated that when the current administration took office, Pakistan was facing international isolation. However, due to the tireless efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and the entire government team, the economy is now on a path to recovery and Pakistan’s role in global policymaking has become more prominent.
She added that certain planted elements had attempted to tarnish the country’s image, but today the world is recognising Pakistan’s culture, infrastructure, and economic stability. Highlighting religious harmony, Azma Bokhari said that under the leadership of the chief minister, new examples of interfaith harmony have been established in the province. Sikh yatrees are currently guests in Pakistan, and exemplary arrangements have been made for their hospitality and the performance of their religious rituals. She stressed that this is the progressive face of Pakistan that the country aims to present to the world.
In conclusion, she remarked that in the age of social media, the truth can no longer be concealed. Regardless of how much misinformation is spread by Modi’s media, facts remain evident—whether it is incidents like the Rafale aircraft controversy or Pakistan’s defence and diplomatic achievements—the world is increasingly acknowledging Pakistan’s position and credibility.
