KARACHI: Sikandar Raza, the all-rounder of Lahore Qalandars, said that the pitch was not difficult enough for the team to be bowled out for 100 runs, adding that the defeat was not due to bad luck but rather poor performance.

Speaking at a press conference after the match against Islamabad United at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday, he said the team failed to play according to the standard of preparation they had put in during training.

Raza noted that the conditions in Karachi are quite different, and the team has now realised that the pitch here does not require overly aggressive batting but rather sensible and calculated stroke play.

He admitted that the team made a mistake by adopting an aggressive approach in the match. “My individual performance was also average, and I will try to improve it in the upcoming matches,” he added.

Raza further said that the absence of Fakhar Zaman has been a significant setback for the side. He also pointed out that despite having considerable experience, the team failed to post a big total in the match.
