Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, chaired a high-level security meeting on Thursday to finalize comprehensive security and traffic strategies ahead of the arrival of various foreign delegations in the federal capital.

The consultative session brought together senior leadership from the Islamabad Police, Punjab Police, and the Frontier Constabulary to coordinate a unified response. During the meeting, officials conducted a detailed review of the current security landscape, focusing on the implementation of foolproof protection protocols for visiting international dignitaries.

A primary objective of the strategy is the enhancement of inter-provincial coordination and the execution of more effective joint operations. IGP Rizvi directed officers to increase surveillance at sensitive locations across the city while maintaining a rigorous presence in the field.

He stressed that the integration of all relevant institutions is critical to managing potential security challenges and ensuring a swift, coordinated response. Addressing the impact on the public, the IGP underscored the necessity of an organised traffic management plan designed to minimize inconvenience for local residents.

He stated that while the safety of foreign guests remains a paramount concern, the police department is equally committed to maintaining smooth traffic flow and ensuring a secure, peaceful environment for all citizens.

The IGP concluded the meeting by reaffirming that maintaining law and order in the capital remains the department’s top priority. He instructed all officers to utilise every available resource and remain on high alert to guarantee the successful implementation of the security and traffic directives.
