ABBOTTABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) provincial General Secretary Shuja Salim Khan on Wednesday said that the party would uphold merit and transparency in awarding tickets for the upcoming Kashmir elections.
He reaffirmed PPP’s unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmir cause, he said while speaking at a meeting here. Former legislative assembly candidate Sheikh Nisar Ahmed and former member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Naeema Nisar were also present. The meeting discussed matters relating to party ticket distribution for Kashmir elections.
Shuja Khan emphasized that decisions about the refugee seat would be made through consultation and on merit to ensure deserving candidates were given their due right. He stressed that merit would remain the cornerstone in awarding tickets for the refugee seat in the upcoming elections.Shuja Khan reiterated that PPP leadership had always raised a voice for Kashmir cause, and the party continued to stand firmly by that legacy.
