LAHORE: Inspector General Pakistan Railways Police Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan visited the Police Training School Walton on Wednesday and ordered immediate improvements in facilities and training standards.

Expressing dissatisfaction over conditions, the IG noted poor facilities for trainees and directed establishment of a proper mess hall after observing that meals were being served in an undignified manner. He also ordered immediate revision of the outdated training manual, unchanged since 2004.

The IG directed improvement of the waterlogged parade ground, provision of vehicles and motorcycles for Quick Response Force duties, and initiation of a drill instructor course to address staff shortages. He further sought proposals for a monogram and flag for the training institution.

He emphasised that modern, effective training is essential to ensure protection of railway assets and passengers, and called for urgent, comprehensive reforms in the training system.
