LAHORE: Police arrested a suspect within hours after a video showing him assaulting a parking stand worker in Rang Mahal went viral on social media.
The accused Asim allegedly attacked the worker during a dispute over parking while under the influence of drugs. Taking notice of the incident, the DIG Operations directed immediate action. Rang Mahal police registered a case against the suspect.
Liaqatabad police have arrested a man for allegedly molesting a nine-year-old girl in Model Town.The suspect was held from Dhulai Bazaar following a complaint that he lured the child on a pretext and subjected her to inappropriate behaviour in Q-Block.Police registered a case and arrested the accused.
Defence B police have arrested a man accused of harassing a Fillipino woman. The suspect, identified as Hasnain, allegedly spotted the foreign woman outside her residence and began harassing her with inappropriate behaviour.
The victim’s husband, Ihekandu Ikechi Simon, approached the police and lodged a complaint. A police team led by Defence B SHO arrested the suspect. A case has been registered against him.
A 65-year old rickshaw driver died after suffering a cardiac arrest in the Nishtar Colony area. An Edhi spokesperson said the deceased, identified as Ameer, was a resident of Kahna. Police shifted the body to the morgue.
A man was allegedly beaten to death in Nishtar Colony on Wednesday. Asif, 40, was reportedly attacked with an iron rod and died on the spot. Police said the suspect, Razzaq, was under the influence of drugs and is a relative of the victim.
The body was shifted for post-mortem, while the weapon has been recovered. A case has been registered.
Meanwhile, a man was injured after unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on him in the Hayer area of Cantonment division on Wednesday.Police said the victim, Zaman, was returning after delivering milk in Asal Guru locality when two assailants targeted him and fled. Police have registered a case and launched a search for the suspects.
