The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday arrested a suspect involved in human smuggling and uncovered an organised trafficking network during a major operation by its Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Karachi, an FIA spokesperson said.
The operation was carried out on the directives of the Director Karachi Zone in connection with FIR No. 118/2026. Acting on credible intelligence, officials traced a proclaimed offender and conducted a raid at a residence in Citizen Colony, Hyderabad. During the raid, the suspect, identified as Haziq Haroon Memon, was arrested.
According to the FIA, the accused was involved in human smuggling and operating a trafficking network. He allegedly lured victims under the pretext of providing work visas and sent girls to Dubai, where they were subjected to exploitation.
The suspect had been remanded in FIA custody for two days for further interrogation. Authorities said investigations were ongoing, and further raids would be conducted to arrest other individuals involved in the network.
