Islamabad: A woman sustained severe burn injuries after her husband allegedly set her on fire by dousing her with petrol in the jurisdiction of Karpa Police Station, police said.
The victim was shifted to hospital in critical condition after being badly burned. According to initial reports, the incident occurred following a minor domestic dispute that escalated into violence.
The woman had been married to the suspect, identified as Waheed Satti, for the past 10 years. A case has been registered against the husband on the complaint of the victim’s mother.
According to the FIR, the suspect’s father informed the complainant via phone that her daughter had been burned. The victim later stated that her husband had physically assaulted her before pouring petrol on her and setting her ablaze. Police have initiated investigation into the incident.
