LAHORE: Multan Sultans captain Ashton Turner was full of praise for his side after their emphatic seven-wicket victory over RawalPindiz in the 14th match of PSL 11 at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
The win, achieved with more than three overs to spare, consolidated the Sultans’ position at the top of the table and underlined their dominance in the tournament’s first half. Turner highlighted the positive energy within the squad, crediting the team’s camaraderie for their consistent performances.
“We are having fun, a lot of smiles in our dressing room. Whilst we strive for a perfect game, we know there is a little bit we can improve,” he said. The captain emphasized that the team’s ability to enjoy their cricket while maintaining focus has been central to their success.
Reflecting on the bowling effort, Turner acknowledged the challenges of operating on tough wickets but stressed the importance of learning and adapting. “They were really tough wickets to bowl; first half done, important to take learnings forward. We have the luxury of bowling options and we want to have a wrist spinner in our ranks; conditions will dictate, might not bowl them as much… we know they are match-winners and they are going to be an important part going forward.”
His comments underline Multan’s depth in bowling resources, with spinners like Faisal Akram already proving decisive in earlier matches. Turner reserved special praise for Sahibzada Farhan, who played a match-defining innings of 68 off 38 balls, his second fifty of PSL 2026.
“He is a beautiful player, he is well supported, got world-class players at the top of the order,” Turner remarked. Farhan’s partnership of 110 runs with Josh Philippe was the backbone of Multan’s chase, setting the stage for a comfortable finish.
With four wins already under their belt, Multan Sultans have established themselves as the team to beat. Turner, who contributed a brisk unbeaten 26 to seal the chase, remains focused on carrying this momentum into the Karachi leg of the tournament.
