Muneeba, Amber excel as Invincibles remain unbeaten

LAHORE: Muneeba Ali’s half-century and Amber Kainat’s four-wicket haul helped Invincibles maintain their 100 per cent winning record as they beat Conquerors by 30 runs in the ninth fixture of the National Women’s T20 Tournament 2025-26 at Bagh-e-Jinnah in Lahore on Friday. In the second match of the day, a three-wicket haul by left-arm pacer Tasmia Rubab guided Strikers to a five-run win over Challengers at the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground.

Opting to bat first, Muneeba-led Invincibles posted 165 for five in their 20 overs. Left-handed Pakistan international Muneeba top-scored with a 47-ball 59, which included nine fours. Fellow Pakistan international Iram Javed remained unbeaten on 43 off 23 balls, striking five fours and two sixes.

For Conquerors, Ayesha Zafar was the most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 30 runs in three overs. In turn, Conquerors were restricted to 135 for eight in their 20 overs. Opening batter Samiya Afsar scored a 48-ball 57, laced with four fours and two sixes, while Hafsa Khalid contributed 38 off 28 balls, hitting six boundaries.

For Invincibles, Amber Kainat returned figures of four for 20 in three overs, while Saima Malik picked up two wickets. In the second match, Strikers posted 150 for seven in their 20 overs after opting to bat first. Dua Majid top-scored with a 28-ball 38, while Aliya Riaz made 32 off 30 balls. Sadaf Shamas and Umm-e-Hani chipped in with 25 runs each.

For Challengers, captain Diana Baig and left-arm spinner Tania Saeed took two wickets apiece. In the run chase, Challengers fell five runs short, finishing at 145 for six in their 20 overs. Opening batter Eman Naseer top-scored with 42, while Eyman Fatima followed up her previous century with a 38-run contribution. Left-arm pacer Tasmia Rubab, who was adjudged player of the match, grabbed three wickets for 26 runs in four overs.
