LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Lahore Qalandars’ opening batsman Fakhar Zaman has filed an appeal against his two-match suspension following a Level 3 breach of the PSL Code of Conduct.

The incident occurred during the Qalandars vs Karachi Kings clash at the Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, when umpires penalised Lahore by five runs and ordered a ball change in the final stages of the match. On-field officials Shahid Saikat and Faisal Khan Aafreedi, along with TV umpire Asif Yaqoob and fourth umpire Tariq Rasheed, charged Zaman with altering the condition of the ball.

Zaman, 35, denied the accusation and requested a full disciplinary hearing. Match Referee Roshan Mahanama reviewed the evidence and conducted a personal hearing before handing down the suspension. The charge was filed under Article 2.14 of the PSL Code, which relates to “changing the condition of the ball in breach of clause 41.3 of the PSL Playing Conditions.”
