LAHORE: The 10th match of the Pakistan Super League 2026 (HBL PSL 11) will see debutants Rawalpindiz take on the unbeaten Karachi Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, in a prime-time fixture Thursday (today).
This night clash will follow the Islamabad United-Quetta Gladiators game, making it a double-header day in PSL 2026. Rawalpindiz have played one game and lost. Their debut match against Peshawar Zalmi ended in a five-wicket defeat despite posting a massive 214/4. Yasir Khan’s explosive 83 off 46 balls and captain Mohammad Rizwan’s 41 were standout performances, but their death bowling faltered, conceding 74 runs in the final five overs.
Karachi Kings have played two matches, and won both the clashes. Karachi have been clinical, defeating Quetta Gladiators by 14 runs and Lahore Qalandars by four wickets. Their bowling attack, led by Adam Zampa, Mir Hamza, and Hasan Ali, has been versatile, while Moeen Ali has emerged as the tournament’s standout all-rounder.
Rawalpindiz will most likely depend on Yasir Khan, a debutant who lit up PSL with a blistering 83. Mohammad Rizwan (c), an experienced leader and anchor; expected to play a stabilizing role. And Naseem Shah & Mohammad Amir. Both struggled at the death against Zalmi; must improve to contain Karachi’s finishers.
Karachi Kings progress has been bolstered by David Warner (c), who has yet to fire, but a big innings from him could be decisive. Moeen Ali is in superb form with bat and ball, capable of changing the game in the final overs. And Adam Zampa, his wrist spin has been highly effective, especially on Lahore’s two-paced surfaces.
The evening matches at Gaddafi Stadium have favored chasing sides due to dew. Expect the toss winner to field first. In such conditions Rawalpindiz’s death bowling remains their biggest concern. Karachi’s lower order — Moeen Ali, Muhammad Waseem, Abbas Afridi — could exploit this. Whereas, Karachi’s composure under pressure is their strength. Their ability to win close games highlights their maturity compared to Rawalpindiz’s debut-season inexperience.
