PPP plans to observe ZAB’s death anniversary

Rawalpindi:The workers of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will observe the 46th death anniversary of the party’s founding chairman, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, this year with full devotion and respect, says a press release.

These views were expressed by PPP Rawalpindi City President Mian Khurram Rasool while addressing a well-attended meeting of ward committees, subsidiary organizations, Peoples Youth, Peoples Students Federation (PSF), Peoples Lawyers Forum, Women’s Wing, Peoples Labour Bureau, Peoples Traders Cell, former elected representatives, and party workers at the party office in Liaquat Bagh.

The meeting was conducted by General Secretary Malik Asif Akbar, who performed the duties of stage secretary and briefed the participants in detail about the objectives of the gathering.Addressing the meeting, PPP Punjab Vice President Rana Riffaqat Ali, former Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Malik Amir Fida Paracha, former Deputy Mayor Raja Altaf Hussain, Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed, Chaudhry Banaras, and Women’s Wing leader Uzra Younas also spoke on the occasion.

Khurram Rasool stated that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the only far-sighted leader in the country’s history who, anticipating future threats, laid the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear programme. He said that today, owing to Bhutto’s vision, Pakistan’s defence has become impregnable and no enemy dares to cast an evil eye on the country.

He informed the participants that, the traditional ceremony at the execution site will once again be held at the location of the former District Jail. Fateha will be offered at 11am, followed by the laying of flower petals at the site of martyrdom.

Additionally, prayer ceremonies will be held across the city on March 31 at the residence of Raja Altaf Hussain in Dhoke Mangtal, and on April 1 at the office in Sadiqabad, organized by former Nazim Jameel Akhtar Qureshi. All these ceremonies will take place in the evening.

Moreover, on April 4, a seminar in memory of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto will be organized at the Rawalpindi Arts Council, where senior party leadership, prominent journalists, and intellectuals from across the country will address the gathering.
