Rawalpindi: On the directions of the Commissioner Rawalpindi and Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Engr. Aamer Khattak, the RDA Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate to take strict actions against illegal and unauthorized housing schemes and issued a comprehensive public advisory for the awareness of citizens, says a press release.
The commissioner has directed to take strict and legal action against the owners, sponsors, and developers involved in illegal housing schemes operating within the controlled areas of RDA. These areas include the jurisdictions of MCR, Tehsil Councils, and District Councils of Rawalpindi, Taxila, Gujar Khan, Kallar Syedan, and Kahuta.
RDA has identified serious violations of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules, 2021, including illegal launching of housing schemes without approval, unauthorized development and sale of plots, non-submission of required documents, and major deviations from approved layout plans.
In compliance with the Commissioner’s directives, RDA has accelerated enforcement actions, which include issuance of notices, registration of FIRs, sealing of offices and project sites, demolition of illegal structures, bans on property transactions, and referral of cases to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing and other relevant agencies.
