A man climbed a high-tension electricity pole near Pasban Chowk in the Ibrahim Hyderi area of Karachi on Friday, reportedly due to domestic issues, police said.
The incident occurred within the limits of the Zaman Town police station, prompting an immediate response from rescue teams. After nearly an hour of efforts, rescuers managed to persuade the man to come down safely.
Police identified the individual as Abdul Hakeem, a resident of Ali Akbar Goth in Ibrahim Hyderi. Police said he climbed the pole out of frustration over personal and domestic problems, drawing a large crowd at the scene.
Rescue personnel used a ladder to reach the man and convinced him to descend after negotiations. Police later took him into custody and shifted him to the police station, from where he was handed over to his brother. Authorities advised the family to have him medically examined.
