Islamabad : Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza chaired a high-level meeting on Friday to review the performance of zonal SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs across the federal capital.
During the session, the SSP conducted a comprehensive performance audit, reprimanding officers with subpar results while assigning fresh strategic tasks aimed at fortifying city security and ensuring the protection of public life and property, a spokesman of the Islamabad police said.
Addressing the forum, the SSP issued stern directives to intensify operations against the land mafia, illegal weaponry, and the public display of arms.
He emphasised the escalation of the ‘Nasha Ab Nahin’ (Drugs No More) movement, ordering a rigorous crackdown on narcotics peddlers.
Furthermore, the SSP mandated the immediate arrest of active gangs involved in heinous crimes, proclaimed offenders and habitual criminals to curb the crime rate effectively.
The district’s top operations officer also focused on vehicle theft, instructing field officers to dismantle gangs specialized in motorcycle and car snatching.
To enhance street security, he ordered SHOs to make night patrolling more purposeful and visible, ensuring that all patrolling units are actively present in the field.
Alongside enforcement, the SSP stressed the importance of community policing, directing officers to prioritise the grievances of citizens and ensure prompt redressal.
Concluding the meeting, the SSP underscored a strict policy of accountability, stating that while commendable performance would be rewarded, negligence in duty would meet with swift punishment.
