LAHORE: After Hyderabad Kingsmen’s opening defeat in PSL 11, skipper Marnus Labuschagne acknowledged the team’s shortcomings and the positives his side could take forward.
Labuschagne admitted that the batting collapse in the powerplay proved costly: “With the batting, I think we just lost a few wickets early in that powerplay.
The conservativeness came down because we had lost 4-5 wickets in the first 6-7 overs.”
Despite the setback, he praised his spinners for pulling things back in the middle overs: “The spinners really pulled things back in the middle overs and got that run rate in the 7s.”
Looking ahead, the captain emphasized the importance of partnerships and strong starts: “There are a lot of things that need to go right. Partnerships, a good start in the powerplay. Especially here, it was a good batting wicket.”
Labuschagne remained optimistic, reminding everyone that the tournament is long: “As you said, lots of positives. Nine games left, it was just the first one.”
