LAHORE: The National Women’s T20 Tournament 2025-26 witnessed history at the Ghani Glass Cricket Ground as Fatima Sana led the Conquerors to a record-breaking total of 241/5, the highest ever in Pakistan’s women’s T20 cricket. The landmark score propelled her side to a thrilling 16-run victory over the Challengers.
Batting first, Conquerors surpassed the previous record of 233 set by Lahore in January 2024. Fatima, captaining her side, produced a stunning unbeaten 91 off 33 balls, striking 10 fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 275.76. She shared an unbroken 112-run stand with Hafsa Khalid (23 not out) to close the innings in style. Earlier, Ayesha Zafar had set the tone with a blistering 57 off 22 balls, hammering nine boundaries and two sixes.
Challengers fought valiantly in reply, thanks to a magnificent century from Eyman Fatima, who struck 112 off 57 balls with 14 fours and five sixes. She was supported by Sidra Nawaz (60 off 32), but once both set batters fell, the chase lost momentum. They finished at 225/6, falling just short despite the heroic effort. Fatima Sana capped her all-round display by taking 3/33 with the ball.
In the day’s second fixture, Stars defeated Strikers by 54 runs. Batting first, Stars posted 158/6, led by Sidra Amin’s unbeaten 62 off 38 balls. Strikers faltered in reply, bowled out for 104 in 17.5 overs, with Laiba Nasir (3 wickets) and Aleesa Mukhtiar alongside Neha Sharmin Nadeem (2 wickets each) ensuring a comfortable win.
The tournament now moves forward with Stars facing Invincibles at Bagh-e-Jinnah and Strikers meeting Conquerors at Ghani Glass Cricket Ground on Thursday, both matches starting at 10am.
