The Disaster Management Authority & Rehabilitation, Sindh, on Thursday has issued an advisory warning of unstable weather conditions across the province following a forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

According to the officials, a system of westerly winds that entered the region on the night of March 24 is expected to intensify from March 27 and may continue its influence until March 31.

Under its impact, several districts of Sindh, including Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Dadu, Sukkur, Jacobabad, and Larkana, are likely to experience rain and thunderstorms on March 26. In some areas, hailstorms are also expected, raising concerns over potential damage.

The advisory further states that intermittent rainfall is anticipated on March 28 and 29, which may bring a noticeable drop in daytime temperatures. Authorities have warned that strong winds, lightning, and hailstorms could pose risks to weak infrastructure such as electric poles, billboards, and solar panels, while standing crops may also be adversely affected.

In light of the forecast, tourists and travellers have been urged to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement, particularly in vulnerable areas. Farmers have been advised to plan their agricultural activities carefully in accordance with the changing weather conditions to minimize losses.

The Disaster Management Authority has directed all concerned Deputy Commissioners, District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs), and relevant institutions to remain on high alert. Officials have been instructed to ensure preparedness and take precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents during the forecast period.
