LAHORE:Punjab Local Government Department has deployed consultant staff in 51 cities for Punjab Development Programme (PDP).
This was revealed by Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique while chairing a meeting on Thursday.Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian, Special Secretary Asia Gul and Project Director PDP Ahmer Sohail Kaifi attended the meeting.
Provincial LG minister said that the excavation of most of the underground tanks for rainwater drainage and storage has been completed, while the construction of roadside water storage tanks in several cities has entered the final stages.
He expressed satisfaction over the progress on ‘Maryam Nawaz Ka Sohna Punjab’ Programme. He directed that the delay in the work due to the recent rains and Eid holidays should be overcome. He said that both quality and speed should be taken care of during the work. "The deputy and assistant commissioners concerned should make regular visits to the construction sites".
