Rain, thunderstorms likely in several parts of country today

Islamabad:The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain-windstorms and thunderstorms at several places across the country on Thursday, with chances of hailstorms in isolated areas.

According to the forecast, northeastern and southern Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to receive rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunder.

Isolated rain-thunderstorms are also likely in central and northeastern Punjab, including the Pothohar region, while partly cloudy conditions are expected in other parts of the country. The Met Office warned that heavy rainfall at isolated places may increase water flow in local streams and nullahs of Kharan, Turbat, Kech, Noshki, Panjgur, Gwadar and Pasni from tonight through March 26.In Islamabad, partly cloudy weather with rain and thunderstorms is expected during morning and afternoon hours, with a 45 percent probability. Punjab is likely to witness partly cloudy weather, with rain-windstorms and isolated hailstorms expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Lahore, Gujrat, Sargodha, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas.
