Islamabad: The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), in collaboration with Aspire Pakistan, has announced the launch of the PEC Global Engineering Freelance Initiative, a major step aimed at preparing Pakistani engineers for the rapidly expanding global digital economy.

The programme, scheduled from April 13 to 17, will provide structured online training to help engineers explore international freelancing opportunities and develop skills needed to work beyond geographical boundaries.

A total of 5,000 seats have been allocated for the initiative, which is open to PEC registered engineers, early-career professionals and engineers seeking additional income streams through global platforms.

The initiative reflects the changing nature of the engineering profession, where digital technologies are enabling professionals to contribute their expertise worldwide. Through live online learning sessions, participants will receive guidance on understanding freelancing opportunities in engineering, navigating international freelance platforms, building strong engineering portfolios and learning practical strategies to secure their first freelance project.

The programme will also provide personalised career assessment using AI-enabled profiling to evaluate participants’ technical skills, digital capabilities and professional interests, helping them identify suitable freelance pathways.
