LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Monday evening hosted a ceremony to honour the franchises, players, and dignitaries ahead of HBL Pakistan Super League season 11. The event brought together national and international stars, government officials, and cricket administrators in a celebration marking the official start of the tournament.

The ceremony served as the launch-pad for PSL 11’s key symbols like the unveiling of the HBL PSL-11 Trophy and the release of the official anthem “Khelenge Beat Pe”, setting the tone for the season.

In his remarks, Mohsin Naqvi emphasised the importance of national interest and strategic decisions taken for this year’s edition: “Due to the regional situation and in keeping with national interests, PSL 11 has been limited in scope. You must always put the wider interest of the country and the nation first.”

“I sincerely apologise to the cricket fans from the bottom of my heart. I am confident that today’s sacrifice will pave the way for future ease.” “PSL has become a top international brand, and our goal is to take it even further.” The ceremony was attended by senior government officials and dignitaries, including a number federal and provincial Ministers. The event was graced by franchise owners, team captains, national squad members and coaching staff. International stars including Sikandar Raza, Ravi Bopara, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tim Paine, Josh Phillipe, Mike Smith, Brendan Wilson, and Peter Siddle joined the ceremony.
