Four killed in Swabi firing, road accident

SWABI: Four men were killed in separate incidents of firing and a road accident in Swabi, police and rescue officials said.

The police said that two young men were killed in an exchange of fire between two groups over a land dispute in Yaqubi Dola area of Razar tehsil.

One Shahid Ali told police that he was on his way to collect fodder along with his brother Bilal and cousin Mehran when Pervez and Nawab Ali opened fire on them.

As a result, Bilal was killed on the spot, while Shahid and his cousin remained unhurt.

Meanwhile, one Naveed Ahmad said he was present on the roof of his house along with his brother Mujahid Ali when Akhtar and Shanzeb opened fire on them.

He said that Mujahid Ali was killed, while he remained unhurt.

The police said both groups were related to each other.

A case was registered, and raids were conducted to arrest the suspects.

Meanwhile, two cousins were killed in a road accident in the Kaddi area of Swabi tehsil when a passenger coach collided with a motorcycle due to over-speeding.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson Luqman Khan said the deceased were identified as Abdullah and Imran, residents of Panjpir village.

Their bodies were taken to the Bacha Khan Medical Complex.
