LAHORE: The Lahore Qalandars have moved quickly to reinforce their squad for HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11, announcing the signing of Australian all rounder Daniel Sams as a replacement for Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka, who has withdrawn due to personal reasons.

Shanaka, acquired at the PSL auction, confirmed his unavailability ahead of the tournament, leaving the Qalandars in need of a proven performer. The franchise responded decisively, securing Sams, a dynamic cricketer renowned for his match winning ability in the T20 format.

Sams brings a wealth of experience to Lahore’s lineup.

With a career batting strike rate of over 150 and 262 wickets in 216 T20 matches at an average of 24.70, the left arm seamer is regarded as a player who can change the course of a game with both bat and ball. His aggressive batting style and ability to deliver under pressure make him a valuable addition to the Qalandars’ campaign.

Qalandars’ owner Sameen Rana expressed excitement over the signing: “We are thrilled to welcome Daniel Sams to the Lahore Qalandars family.

His all round skills, match winning ability, and dynamic T20 experience will add tremendous firepower to our lineup this season.

He is a proven game changer who can perform with both bat and ball, bringing energy and skill to the team on and off the field.”

“With Sams joining the squad, Lahore Qalandars have ensured their balance and competitiveness remain intact ahead of PSL 11.

The franchise will now look to capitalize on his versatility as they prepare for a challenging season in the expanded eight team tournament.”
