ISLAMABAD: The federal government has completed integration of various ministries with National Security Operations Centre (NSOC) to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity system.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Division, NEPRA and NTDC have been connected to NSOC. According to documents, National Computer Emergency Response Team has been granted Tier-1 status, while Gov-CERT has been incorporated into the system as Tier-2.
Following this integration, monitoring of cyber threats across government institutions has been significantly enhanced. Under the new system, cyberattacks will be identified in a timely manner and responded to promptly.
All government institutions are being gradually integrated into national cyber monitoring system. The document further states NSOC now enables immediate sharing of cyber-related information among different ministries. Under integrated system, implementation of a coordinated national strategy against cyberattacks has begun.
The new model aims to further strengthen digital security of national infrastructure. By using NSOC as a central command, all sectoral CERTs are being brought onto a single platform.
Modern dashboards and real-time analytics will provide instant information to top leadership.
Under national cybersecurity defence strategy, continuous monitoring and protection of all critical digital systems will be ensured.
