LAHORE:Provincial Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir visited Sundus Foundation Shadman. Senior journalists Sohail Warraich, Khalid Abbas Dar and Foundation's President Yasin Khan were also present on the occasion. Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir also distributed Eid gifts among children suffering from thalassemia. They visited the children and also inquired about their treatment. Khawaja Salman, while talking to the media, said that Sundas Foundation is a reputable institution. Under the auspices of this institution, thousands of thalassemia children are being provided with the best medical facilities. This institution has been serving for the past 23 years. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, this programme is being expanded. So far, more than 500,000 people have been counselled.

Provincial Minister for Health and Population Khawaja Imran Nazir, while talking to the media, said that Sundas Foundation has become a name of trust. Soon, the scope of the Thalassemia Programme will also be started in BHUs and RHCs under the leadership of CM Maryam Nawaz. Thalassemia test before marriage can be most helpful in controlling this disease. An awareness campaign will also be launched in this regard.
