Rs210m drugs seized as smuggling bid foiled; two suspects arrested

LAHORE:Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) and the Motorway Police foiled a drug smuggling attempt near the Sial Mor Interchange, seizing a large quantity of cocaine worth approximatelyRs210 million.

According to a CNF spokesperson, the operation was carried out following close coordination between the CNF and the Motorway Police, who had set up a checkpoint in the vicinity of the interchange. Motorway Police officials intercepted a suspicious car travelling between Sukheki and Sial Interchanges. The CNF team’s thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 21.28kg cocaine concealed inside, the spokesperson added. Two suspects, residents of Charsadda, were arrested.

Two arrested on murder charge

The investigation police solved the murder of youth, Shakil Ahmed in the Mughalpura area, apprehending two suspects involved in the killing, officials said.SP Investigation stated that the suspects stabbed Shakil Ahmed following a minor verbal altercation and fled the scene.

Abduction case registered

A 55-year-old man, Ghulam Rasool, was abducted outside a hospital while attending to a patient, his family claimed.According to the complainant, Bilal, son of the man, a case of abduction has been registered at Kot Lakhpat police station. Bilal told authorities that his father went outside the hospital to fetch water but never returned.Footage reportedly showing Ghulam Rasool leaving the hospital has surfaced, according to his son. The family has demanded action to trace the missing man.

Man hit to death

A 38-yearold man, identified as M Boota, died in a traffic accident in the Chuhng area. According to preliminary reports, Boota was crossing the road when he was struck by a speeding vehicle.

Hunt on for cop’s son in hit-and-run case

Police are attempting to arrest the son of a police inspector who is accused of fleeing after allegedly causing a serious traffic accident on Ring Road.

Ali Shah is under investigation for reportedly ramming his vehicle into another car at high speed, leaving it completely damaged before escaping the scene. According to sources, Ring Road police traced the incident through CCTV footage and have taken the affected vehicle into custody. A case has been registered at Kahna police station.
