LAHORE:A divisional meeting was held under the chairpersonship of Commissioner Marryam Khan regarding the implementation of notified rates for transport fares on Eid.

The meeting was attended by deputy commissioners of all four districts of Lahore Division. Commissioner instructed the deputy commissioners to set up administrative counters at bus terminals to regulate fares on Eid.

Teams must be formed, checking and monitoring must be tightened at bus terminals. She said that notified rates must be displayed clearly at bus bases and terminals. Notified rates have been issued after the increase in fares due to the increase in fuel prices, no one is allowed to overcharge passengers.

Commissioner said that price magistrates should remain active, zero tolerance must be maintained on exorbitant prices before Eid.The meeting was attended by DC Lahore Captain R Ali Ijaz, DC Nankana Rao Taslim Akhtar, DC Sheikhupura Shahid Imran Marth, DC Kasur Asif Raza, and ACG Wajiha Samreen.
