Daylight Saving Time (DST) could be a practical measure for Pakistan to address the challenges of rising fuel prices and energy shortages. By advancing the clock by one hour during the summer months, the country would make better use of natural daylight, reducing the need for artificial lighting and lowering electricity consumption during peak evening hours. This adjustment would not only ease the burden on the national grid but also cut down on fuel imports used for power generation, thereby conserving valuable foreign reserves. It should be noted that DST is already practiced in many developed countries, where it has proven effective in promoting energy efficiency and fostering a culture of conservation.
