SARGODHA: A man allegedly murdered six members of his family, including his wife and five children, over the pretext of honor within the jurisdiction of Bhagtanwala police station here at Chak No 25 Sb.
Police said on Monday that the accused, identified as Yasin Mallah, confessed to the brutal killing of his wife, daughter, and four sons. The deceased were identified as the suspect’s wife, his daughter aged 15-16 years, three sons aged 5-6 years, 9-10 years, 12-13 years, and a few-month-old son, according to the FIR.
Later, the accused attempted to commit suicide following the act and was shifted to a hospital, where his condition was now stated to be out of danger. The initial investigation suggested that Yasin Mallah committed the crime due to suspicions regarding his wife and daughter having illicit relations with a man of the same locality.
The incident was reported to the police by a citizen named, who, along with the accused’s brother Sarfaraz, entered the house by scaling the wall to find the victims’ bodies in a room and the accused lying injured in the courtyard.
The spokesperson stated that the accused had also called a friend to inform him of the murders prior to his suicide attempt. Police recovered the murder weapons, including an axe, a knife, and a hammer, from the crime scene.
Furthermore, the police took the individual named by the accused killer was also taken into custody for interrogation. A case was registered against the accused. The District Police Officer Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf said that all elements involved in the tragedy would be brought to justice to face strict legal action.
