LAHORE: The CM Punjab Energy-Saving Cycling Ride 2026 was held in Lahore, drawing more than 500 participants, including boys, girls, women, and children. The 10-kilometer route began at Kalma Chowk, passed through the Central Business District (CBD), and concluded back at the starting point.
Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, led the ride alongside senior officials including Secretary Sports Punjab Muhammad Ali, SBP Vice Chairman Suleman Malik, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, Sports Coordinator Malik Anoosh Khokhar, and Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum. At the conclusion of the ride, special souvenirs were presented to the dignitaries.
Speaking to the media, Minister Khokhar emphasised that cycling is a healthy activity that not only saves energy but also protects the environment. He reiterated that attracting the younger generation toward sports and positive activities is a top priority for the government. He also announced that after Eid, Punjab will host its largest marathon, followed by the province’s biggest sports festival, the Khelta Punjab Games, where cycling will be included as a major event.
