The school education department has decided to investigate alleged negligence in the preparation and verification of data related to the school-specific budget (SSB) after it was found that unverified and misleading information had been provided in the submitted records.
According to official sources, a four-member inquiry committee was constituted to examine the matter, while disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the chief monitoring officer and other officials held responsible.
The department issued notices to the director primary region Sukkur, district education officer (primary) Khairpur, and chief monitoring officer, seeking their explanations regarding the discrepancies in the data.
The inquiry committee would review the irregularities identified in the preparation and verification of the SSB data. The special secretary (PDF) of the education department has been appointed as the chairperson of the committee, while the additional secretary (PDF), monitoring and evaluation director general, and additional secretary (GA) would serve as its members.
The committee has been tasked with identifying flaws and irregularities in the submitted data and recommending necessary corrective measures. It has been directed to submit its report to the competent authority within seven days.
