Karachi Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Monem Zafar said on Sunday that the alliance of the United States (US), Israel and India against the Muslims was a ‘troika of evil’, adding that the war in the Middle East was being deliberately expanded as bombings continued in parts of Lebanon, Syria and Iran.

Addressing the ‘Anti-America, Anti-Israel Public Gathering and Iftar Dinner, in Korangi, he said that resistance leadership in Iran preferred martyrdom rather than bowing before oppression and remained steadfast against tyrannical forces.

He remarked that today, the US and Israel were openly involved in terrorism around the world and such examples were rarely found in history, Muslims were being specifically targeted by the US and Israel, he said.

He said Allah had blessed Pakistan with countless resources and Pakistan came into existence as an Islamic republic during the blessed month of Ramazan. He said the objective of Pakistan was the establishment of Allah’s system, but unfortunately this goal had yet to be fully achieved.

He urged the Muslims to strengthen their relationship with the Quran, adding that the last 10 days of Ramazan were especially blessed and the Odd Nights hold great spiritual significance. He called for special prayers during these nights for the security, stability and prosperity of Pakistan and for the unity and success of the Muslim Ummah.

Zafar said Ramazan taught patience, respect and the spirit of struggle for one’s rights. He recalled the historic Battle of Badr, which took place during Ramazan, where 313 companions under the leadership of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) defeated a much larger army. He said the event taught that with faith, patience and perseverance, divine support became inevitable.

He said that for more than two-and-a-half years, the people of Gaza and Palestine had continued their resistance. Thousands of Palestinians had been martyred, yet, despite full support from the US, Israel had failed to defeat the people of Gaza, he remarked.
