A reported robbery of Rs2.5 million in New Karachi Industrial Area turned out to be fabricated after police investigations revealed that the complainant had staged the incident.

According to police, on March 10, a man identified as Saad Hassan reported that four armed suspects riding two motorcycles robbed him of Rs2.5 million near Sitara Park close to Ittehad Enterprise.

Following the complaint, police registered an FIR under sections 397/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code at the local police station and launched an investigation. During the probe, investigators examined the crime scene and other aspects of the case, which revealed that the alleged robbery was false and staged.

According to SSP Central Dr Imran, the complainant later confessed that he had fabricated the robbery to avoid paying Rs2.5 million he owed to his uncle, Idris. He admitted that he had dropped his motorcycle near Sitara Park to create the impression of a robbery and misled the police.

Police said the case was solved within 48 hours through a professional investigation, confirming that no robbery had actually taken place. Further legal action was under way.
