PPP-SB organiser found murdered in Hyderabad flat

HYDERABAD: The body of a local organiser of the Pakistan Peoples Party-Shaheed Bhutto was found in an apartment in Qasimabad on Friday afternoon, police said.

The deceased was shifted to the Civil Hospital Hyderabad for a postmortem examination. Qasimabad SHO Aslam Parvez Abro said police received information about firing in the area and a body lying in an apartment.

Acting on the information, police reached the apartment near the Ponam Petrol Pump on Wadhu Wah Road, where the body of a man was found in the guest room. According to the SHO, the deceased was identified as Kashif Qaimkhani, also known as Kashif Baghi, a well-known activist of the PPP-Shaheed Bhutto in Hyderabad.

As news of his death spread, a large number of PPP-SB workers, activists from various student organisations and friends gathered at the mortuary of the Civil Hospital Hyderabad. Later, they also went to the police station to lodge an FIR. Initial findings of the postmortem report confirmed that a bullet had struck the victim in the eye and passed through.

PPP-SB Hyderabad President Irshad Khaskheli said that Kashif was a party organiser who had been murdered. He warned that if the suspects were not arrested, the party would stage protests.
