LAHORE: The Pak International Business Forum (PIBF) has announced plans to launch a major training initiative titled ‘GenZ Entrepreneur Drive’, aimed at equipping young people with modern business skills and entrepreneurial knowledge.

According to PIBF office-bearers, the programme will provide Pakistani youth with professional business training and guidance. They added that the initiative will also include financial support for promising young entrepreneurs in collaboration with the Alkhidmat Foundation, enabling them to start and expand their businesses.

The announcement was made at a recent event organised by the forum, which was attended by members of the business community and representatives from various walks of life. Senior business leader Dr Mushtaq Mangat, from the textile sector, was elected central president of the forum. Muhammad Ejaz Tanveer, a former executive committee member of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and president of the FMCG sector, was elected central general secretary. Renowned business leader Abdul Wadood Alvi, former vice chairman of the Pakistan Electric Power Generating Association (PEPGAI), was elected president of PIBF Lahore.

A formal oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected office-bearers was also held on the occasion, during which they took oath of their respective offices. Speaking at the ceremony, PIBF leaders said the forum would actively participate in upcoming elections in chambers of commerce across Pakistan under the banner of the Business Forum.

They added that the PIBF would work collectively with stakeholders from the trade, industry and services sectors to address their concerns and advocate timely solutions to support business growth and economic development.

Women entrepreneurs in large numbers also attended the event. The PIBF leadership said the forum would contest elections in women’s chambers as well and launch initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s economic participation.
