PESHAWAR: The Accountability Court on Wednesday extended the physical remand of accused in the Kohistan financial scandal and owner of a private enterprise company Bakhtiar Khan to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for seven more days.
Accountability Judge Muhammad Zafar heard the case while NAB’s special prosecutor Manik Shah and the investigation officer were present in the court.The NAB counsel informed the court that Bakhtiar Khan, a resident of Gilgit, ran a private enterprise company. It was told that Rs85 million had been transferred from the account of a key figure in the scandal, Mumtaz Khan, to the suspect’s account, necessitating further investigation.
The NAB requested an extension of the suspect’s physical remand to continue the probe. The court then approved the extension, handing Bakhtiar Khan over to NAB custody for seven more days to facilitate ongoing investigations.
