Islamabad: In a high-level strategic move to ensure public safety during the upcoming religious observances, the Islamabad Capital Police and Rawalpindi Police have finalized a comprehensive and foolproof security apparatus for the Youm-e-Shahadat-e-Imam Ali (AS) procession.

Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi personally spearheaded a detailed review of the deployment plan, issuing strict directives to the force to maintain a state of high alert and ensure the seamless execution of the security strategy. This massive mobilization involves more than 3,500 police officers and personnel who have been strategically positioned throughout the federal capital to provide a multi-layered security blanket for both participants and residents.

The security framework includes the deployment of elite snipers at vantage points on rooftops along the designated procession routes to provide over watch and neutralize any potential threats.

To further fortify the perimeter, all roads and streets leading toward Imam Bargahs and the venues of Majalis have been strictly sealed, creating a controlled environment for the religious gatherings. The Islamabad Police spokesperson, DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq, confirmed that specialized checking and rigorous screening are being conducted at all entry and exit points of the city to prevent the movement of miscreants or unauthorized elements.

Modern technology is playing a central role in this year's security operations, with the Safe City Control Room and mobile control units providing real-time surveillance and constant monitoring of the procession’s progress. This digital oversight is bolstered by the presence of senior officers in the field who are tasked with providing on-ground briefings to the personnel and ensuring that every component of the security plan is implemented without compromise.

In addition to the physical security provided by the police and paramilitary forces, the Islamabad Traffic Police has established a specialized traffic management plan to facilitate the smooth flow of vehicles and minimize public inconvenience. Dedicated parking areas have been designated for participants to prevent congestion near the sensitive zones. IG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi emphasized during his field inspection that the protection of the lives and property of citizens remains the paramount priority of the department, underscoring that the force is fully equipped and prepared to handle the logistical and security challenges of the day.

The Rawalpindi Police have also ensured tight security to maintain peace during the observing Youm-e-Shahadat-e-Imam Ali (AS).

The mourning procession in Islamabad ended back at Markazi Imam Bargah, G/6, peacefully. The procession completed its route at Iftari time.
